My new business cards, February 2013
This business card is about 4 years in the making.
How is that possible?
It’s a teeny slip of laminated paper with an image on one side and a dozen words printed on the other.
But… you know how these things can be, right? You think – I’d like to paint that wall green. And then you realize that there are 62 shades of green, and you need a couch that will match the green, and the side table won’t match a new couch, and the lamp breaks in the meantime, so you have to replace that, and so on.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you are probably a person who makes decisions and acts on them a whole lot faster – and with a lot less drama/indecision/self-doubt – than I am. And I kind of envy you.
Anyway, the green wall – that’s what this business card was like. And what so many other projects in my life end up being like.
Then the other day, I thought, gosh darn it heck. I’ve launched the new blog. I’ve sorted out email/phone logistical situations. I’ve even figured out how to word the darn thing a dozen times in my head, usually in bed at 11:30 p.m., when what I really want is to be falling asleep. Today I am making that business card. And, after 4 years, I am proud to say that I didn’t even hardly overthink it at all.
